Maybe from a bystander's side, this is not fair, but he is a Dad alright. It's always pain that make characters more...humanize, i would assume.
Funny it reminded me of the Prof. Snape, a Snape that easily exposes feelings and loves someone else other than Lily is not the Potions Master I know. LOL
